Why It’s Hard To Find A Good Church To Attend

Have you ever wondered why it’s so hard to find a good church? Yes, it most likely would have the same message to spread, but how and what to do can often bring more distance to possible new followers of Christ. Church should always be a place of kind and welcoming sanctuary for all. It’s just how Jesus is.

I know I’ve experienced a few places where people just seem so ‘cold’ and distant. It really didn’t make me want to stick around. I even started to wonder if that was what Christ was all about. I felt very uncomfortable at those places.

Eventually, I discovered the truth. Jesus Christ is very welcoming to all. He wants everyone to feel loved, accepted, and comfortable.

Yes, I understand that the sizes of the churches could seem overwhelming. Believe me, I almost ran away from one because of its size alone (gotta love being introverted problems). But, something inside of me, decided to stay and I’m glad that I did. Size doesn’t matter. It’s the love that counts. The love that we share to others.
So, if you ever see anyone who you don’t know at church (whether if they’re sitting alone or not), acknowledge them. That brief moment could be a life changing experience. Love and welcome others just like Jesus has done for you.

God bless.

How To Have Peace At Work

Do you often feel frustrated during the worktime? Is there at least one person who gets on your last nerves and you don’t know what to do? Are you afraid of loosing your temper and possibly your job because of it?

You are not alone. We all deal with that same situation at one time or another. Just don’t give up and focus on what truly matters.

Here are my tips that help me through the day:

1. Just breathe. A deep breath does wonders. Those breathing techniques you possibly learned in yoga aren’t just for show. They help calm the mind.

2. Ask yourself ‘What Would Jesus Do?’: Yes, that good ole WWJD moment from bible camp really spoke out to me recently and it’s true. In any situation, ask yourself those four words of what He would do in that situation. Think about it. When He got betrayed, did He rise up in pure anger to someone who thought had his back? No. He remained calm and dealt with it respectfully unlike any of us in a situation of betrayal. So, the next time we feel stressed or frustrated with anyone or anything, just remain calm and accept the outcome. We are here for a reason.

3. Earbuds: If possible anyway, but having a distraction from the outsiders can be such a stress reliever.

Don’t give up. Be calm. Be patient. Be caring. Be you. You are there for a purpose.

God bless.

Veteran’s Day

I would like to take a moment today and thank all of the veterans who have served this country. They all have done so much to protect what they believe in and I will forever be grateful. They are truly great people and I will always honor them no matter what.

Love you all!

What I Think About People With Disabilities

There is so much controversy concerning people with disabilities and I honestly don’t understand why. As a Christian woman, would I be mad at God for creating humans to be this way? No. Each person is a gift from God.

I know many people who have disabilities such as blindness, downs syndrome, autism, deaf, and much more. They are kind, hilarious, smart, and caring individuals who happen to think or even look a little differently than the majority of the population. They don’t even care what others think about them. Their confidence is up higher than anyone I know.

It might be tough at times, but no one ever said life is easy.

We are all a gift from God. Take delight in ALL of His creations.

God bless.

Are Christians Perfect?

Hmm…let me think this through…no!

I don’t know any Christians who think they are perfect or close to. Just because we believe in God and His ways does not mean we’re perfect by any means. God is the only perfect one.

If we were perfect, then we wouldn’t be struggling in every day life. Finances, emotions, and every battle we often come across on a daily basis.

With all of my struggles and tests I still find myself going through now, I’m surprised that God hasn’t given up on me it, but I will forever be grateful. It makes me lean on Him even more which is exactly what we should be doing anyway.

So, no, I am far away from perfection. I am a work-in-progress constantly saying no to demons and trying my best to focus on the Lord. What helps me through the battles is “What Would Jesus Do” in these situations? This usually calms me down.

There is nothing on earth that is close to perfection.

Courageous – Movie Review

Courageous – 2 hours 9 minutes – 2011

courageous

Have you ever heard of the Christian film Courageous that was directed and produced by Alex Kendrick and Stephen Kendrick? It has been a while since it was released but never know! There are a ton of films that I haven’t seen yet. Well, here’s another movie to get on your to-watch list.

Courageous tells the story of a father realizing what is most important in life due to a tragic loss. The important role of fatherhood through religion. After studying the Bible, he decides to take action and sign a pledge. After careful thinking, his friends decide to take action in this pledge also: to be the best they can be for their children instead of being a “good enough” father.

After signing, they realize all the joys, commitment, and hardships they must take to truly honor the pledge.

I don’t have any children, but I believe without a doubt that this film changed my life. I learned what the Bible sees as what being a parent is all about. I noticed the honor and commitment. It truly amazes me. The love of parents to children is truly awesome.

And to the career choice with the film, I understand why they chose most of these characters to be police officers. Honor is definitely a characteristic an officer should have. But, like the movie tagline goes, “Honor begins at home.” If you brace yourself by showing all the love, honor, courage, and commitment at home, then chances are that they will follow you outside the home as well.

This film definitely has so much life lessons that you will definitely take in your own life. It truly is inspiring.

What is a parent to you?

9/11

As you all probably know by now, yesterday was one of the worst days we have ever experienced in this country. On this day, every single year, I always find myself right back in my 5th grade classroom hearing the news for the first time. I didn’t believe it at first. Then, they gathered us together with another class and we just stared at the news screen for the longest time that day. It was a horrible experience. I wish to never EVER experience that again.

Back to yesterday, I am honestly surprised by the amount of people who just treat it as just a regular day like nothing even happened. We can still live our lives, but just by taking a moment to remember goes a long way. I know several people who celebrated birthdays yesterday. That will happen anyway and they should celebrate the day of their birthday too, just like anyone else.

It just made me think about how far apart everyone is. How divided we really are. In times of these, we need to come together. That was a big part of history. Many parts of history that we should be learning from instead of avoiding. Yes, it was messy. But, we can change that by coming together! Unite! Become the UNITED States.

Honor. Respect. Remember.
